We propose the “Smart Urban Lighting System” (SULS), which integrates advanced LED technology with smart grid infrastructure, renewable energy sources, and EV charging stations. The system will use real-time data from various sensors—including temperature, presence, and environmental sensors—to optimize lighting and support urban management.
How It Solves the City Challenge:
- Adaptive Lighting Control: SULS will adjust lighting based on data from presence sensors that detect pedestrians and vehicles, as well as temperature sensors to adapt to weather conditions. This approach enhances safety and reduces energy consumption.
- Renewable Energy Integration: The system will incorporate solar panels and energy storage solutions, providing a sustainable energy source for street lighting and EV charging stations.
- EV Charging Stations: EV charging ports will be integrated into the lighting infrastructure, reducing the need for additional infrastructure and making charging more accessible.
- Data-Driven Management: Using environmental sensors to monitor temperature, light pollution, and other factors, the system will provide valuable data to guide improvements and support smart city initiatives.
