Our solution addresses the challenge of accessibility for hearing-impaired and deaf passengers on public transport by delivering real-time transcriptions and sign language translations of audio announcements. It ensures a seamless experience for passengers and enhances inclusivity in public transport, which is critical in modern smart cities.
The hearing impaired passengers location is identified automatically, associating them with a specific public transport vehicle. Announcements are picked up without any extra work for the driver and sent to hearing impaired/deaf passengers who are notified by vibrating their smart device. The announcement is displayed on the devices screen using either text or sign language video – depending on the preference.
