Safe Way to School

Since the urban environment in Riga is very diverse in form, quality, and level of accessibility, understanding how people of different groups of society choose their means of commute and transportation around the city is a complex matter. The key challenge that we distinguish concerns one of the more resilient societal groups – pupils and scholars, who commute to school daily, thus embrace all the factors, characteristics, challenges, and changes in the urban environment, ranging from the quality of walking infrastructure in the central area and the neighborhoods, security during different hours of the day, to the quality and reliability of PT services or availability of means of commuting alternative to motorized vehicles.
