The banks of the rivers located in the City of Pärnu are an attractive area that is wanted to be used more and more. Several landslides have occurred on the banks of rivers over the years, which affects planning and construction activities in these areas. The results of the geological surveys compiled so far shows that the rivers have numerous landslide-prone or potentially landslide-prone areas, where construction and planning activities require special measures to ensure the stability of the shores. This is a big problem for the city, as the pressure to use the waterfront is high and growing every year.
