We propose the “Sustainable Energy Exchange Network” (SEEN), a comprehensive system that facilitates the efficient use of excess green energy by creating local energy communities. This system will leverage blockchain technology for transparent energy trading, IoT sensors for real-time monitoring, and smart grid solutions to manage energy distribution.
How It Solves the City Challenge:
- Energy Communities: SEEN will enable the formation of local energy communities where private solar panel owners can directly supply excess energy to public institutions and other community members, such as hospitals or schools, thereby reducing waste.
- Smart Grid Integration: The system will integrate with the existing grid infrastructure and use smart grid technology to manage and balance energy supply and demand within the community.
- Blockchain for Trading: Blockchain technology will facilitate secure and transparent energy transactions between prosumers and consumers, ensuring fair compensation and efficient distribution.
- IoT and Data Analytics: IoT sensors will monitor energy production, consumption, and environmental factors, providing real-time data to optimize energy use and support decision-making.
