Prestigious Recognition for Applied Research and Prominent Nomination

DigiAudit and RESTO, two energy-efficiency solutions developed through our first round of pilot projects, have recently earned award nominations. Both innovations address critical aspects of sustainable urban development, with DigiAudit focusing on real-time building energy assessments and RESTO on optimizing resource usage for renovations.

These nominations underscore our commitment to impactful, scalable solutions that drive cities toward a greener, more energy-efficient future.

DigiAudit awarded for applied research

At the Tallinn Entrepreneurship Awards gala held on October 2, awards were presented in various categories, including best development project, cooperation project, bright start-up, tourism project, job creator, future solution, and circular economy promoter.

Among these honors, one of the best applied research awards was given to DigiAudit, representing Tallinn University of Technology. The award was given for DigiAudit’s building energy efficiency and indoor climate audit solution, which was developed as part of our first-round pilot projects.

Martin Thalfeldt, tenured associate professor of the Near Zero Energy Buildings Research Group and DigiAudit project research lead, was there to accept the award.

DigiAudit provides a solution for auditing building energy efficiency and indoor climate, enabling the automation of energy use analyses and the creation of real-time energy labels. Through collaboration with Estonian companies Thinnect and R8 TECHNOLOGIES, this innovative solution has successfully reached both the market and customers worldwide.

RESTO in top 3 of World of Digital Built Environment award

The World of Digital Built Environment (WDBE) Summit announced the winners of the WDBE 2024 Awards on October 4th, which highlight notable digital advancements in the built environment. This year, submissions were received across six categories, showcasing practical and innovative solutions in areas such as sustainability, research, project delivery, and AI.

RESTO was successfully selected as one of the TOP3 finalist for the category “Best research for digital built environment” among City of Tallinn and the later winner Sitowise with solution „Planect – Lightning-Fast Climate Impact Assessments for Urban Plans”.

DigiAudit’s partner R8 Technologies was also successful, winning in the category “Most Impactful Digital Act for Sustainability” for accelerating real estate’s sustainable transformation with R8 Digital Operator Jenny, the Human-Centric AI” by R8 Technologies.
