Celebrating Luiza Schuch de Azambuja’s successful PhD defense

On June 5th, an early-stage researcher in the FinEst Centre, Luiza Schuch de Azambuja, successfully defended her doctoral thesis at TalTech’s Ragnar Nurkse Department of Innovation and Governance.

Her research focused on technology governance, specifically exploring the journey towards smarter sustainable cities and the development of evolving governance practices.

Luiza’s thesis, titled “Exploring the Journey towards Smarter Sustainable Cities: Capacity Development for Evolving Governance Practices,” explored crucial aspects of how cities can become smarter and more sustainable through effective governance.

We extend our congratulations to her supervisor, Prof. Dr. Ralf-Martin Soe of the FinEst Centre for Smart Cities, and her co-supervisors, Prof. Dr. Gabriela Viale Pereira from the Department for E-Governance and Administration, Universität für Weiterbildung Krems, Austria, and Dr. Dr. Robert Krimmer of Dr. Krimmer Consulting OÜ, Tallinn, Estonia.
